On the traces of Coloured Clew

The International Innovation Forum «Interra», which finished its work on 12 September, was created by its own participants. People loved «Interra» for its openness and boldness to step from fundamental science to ethnic songs on the «Water of Life» festival glade, from foresight-seminars with discussions on anthropology to the Street Theatres Festival «Tri Vorony» and so on. Openness and diversity of the Forum enabled its participants and audience to find their place in the sphere of innovations.

The Forum, which was being prepared during long months, was initially thought of as an exhibition of innovative projects in different spheres: culture, science, society, business. The Forum has also become a big discussion ground — Russian and foreign specialists had opportunity to communicate and share experience within the «Interra» forum. According to the Forum organisers’ appraisal, the main goal — activation of interaction between creative youth, scientists and specialists — has been achieved.

The Expert Symposium «Innovations and the Present» became the main event of the first day of the Forum. Three roundtables were held within the Symposium: «Innovations and Economics», «Innovations and Education» and «Innovations and Society». The events of the second day were concentrated in Academgorodok, so participants had a chance to get acquainted with the leading research institutes and Novosibirsk innovations infrastructure.

Special thematic events were organised at the discussion grounds in Novosibirsk universities. University of Economics and Management hosted the conference «Region of Innovations: from Human Resources to Human Capital». Still, the most important event was reserved for the last day of the Forum. Innovative Projects Investment Fair — the regional stage of All-Russia Youth Innovation Convent and Project Session «Innovative Manifesto of the New Generation» took place in Novosibirsk on 12 September.
867 projects were submitted to competitive selection. The prizes in nomination «The Best Innovative Idea» were awarded to a project of a device raising effectiveness of fuel combustion, a project of a device tracing a real cause of failure in protective apparatus and a project of battery testing complex. The prizes in nomination «The Best Innovative Project» were given to a technology of integral NEMS-structures, to a developed in NSU Autoscanlaser and to a project of a sector of ash dump complete processing at boiler houses. Apart from the Idea and the Project the expert committee didn’t forget about «The Best Innovative Product» and awarded prizes in this nomination to creators of mesoporous nanomaterial, composite metalcutting instrument and rubber-bitumen binding material from autotyres.

The three days of the Forum flashed by for Novosibirsk citizens as coloured whirlwind of the «Interra» emblem: pink, blue, green and yellow. In the intervals between discussions on innovations, human capital and the newest technical solutions the Forum participants had chance to visit the «Water of Live» ethnic festival with music, dances and barbecue, listen to public lectures of Yury Saprykin and Philip Dzyadko, chief editors of the «Afisha» and «Big City» magazines, discuss the future of blogosphere with Anton Nosik and watch bright performances of real street theatres. About 12 thousand people attended the expert grounds, about 5 thousand people visited the «Water of Live» festival, and the final concert on Lenin Square gathered more than 30 thousand spectators.
